KEEPING QUIET( CLASS XII FLAMINGO)

                                     KEEPING QUIET INTRODUCTION
In this modern world where life moves at a very fast pace we have become very selfish and are lest concerned about the other human or nature. We move ahead single mindedly and live a life full of strifes and destructions without understanding other humans. Pablo Neruda in understanding,  love and respect among human beings.


Justification of Title

The title “Keeping Quiet” emphasizes the necessity of quiet introspection and creating a feeling of mutual understanding among human beings. It conveys Neruda’s philosophy of an exotic moment of silence and inactivity which can an antidote to war, violence, hatred, exploitation and turmoil. By keeping quiet, mankind can try to understand itself and stop harming itself with death and destruction. Thus, the title is very appropriate.

SUMMARY
The poet, Neruda, basically questions the way we move through our lives without pausing or caring for the world around us or the suffering of nature, the world and other people. He exhorts the reader to stay still and count till twelve, pause and look at the world around. He also asks us to think about what we see, how we can bring about change in things that are wrong, stop fighting "green wars" and be friendly to each other and nature for a change.
